The Crystalline Spectrum: A
Journey From Student To Master
September 27 - October 22, 2008
Our workshop on Friday, 9/26 is beginning to fill with demos/discussions/presentations.
Jamie Kozlowski will be doing demo of his throwing techniques, working with small & larger amounts of clay.
Rod Simair will do demo of throwing larger forms using a sectional construction process.
Denyse Simair will discuss issues of glazing large forms.
Avi Harriman will have his reduction machine that we'll attach to one of our electric kilns, and because of time constraints, conduct just a post firing reduction.
I (Bill Schran) can have a raku type kiln set up to also conduct post firing reduction (weather permitting). You are invited to bring pots for these experimental firings.
Phil Hamling will be doing a presentation on kiln elements, element design and doing a demo how to wind your own elements.
Dick White will do a demo how to use an electric meter to take ohm readings of your elements to help determine when it's time to change them.
Mark Winner has offered to do a presentation on the different types of crystals one can achieve using frit based glazes and the importance of testing and keeping good notes.
