Buddy Came to Visit 8-19-01


Buddy the deer showed up in the yard around 9:00am. Melissa and I named him. He is a tame deer that was wearing a blue flea collar. He scared Dad to death at first when he walked right up to him. Buddy stayed for most of the afternoon just hanging out and walking around the yard with us. Dad called the police and they said Buddy has been in the neighborhood for a few days now and they have had quite a few calls. They said they don't respond to this type of call and added the DEC was contacted several times and don't want anything to do with Buddy either. They recommended we just let him wander around and he'll probably go away.

He was a real nice deer. He would let you pet him and everything. We fed him carrots and water. He finally wandered off around the middle of the Day. Buddy doesn't look like a normal white tail deer. You know, the kind you normally see around here. Does anyone know what kind of deer Buddy is? Signed Katerina

PS I turns out Buddy is a whitetail deer. Right after he was born his mother was hit by a car. One of our neighbors raised him to about 1 year old, when he started wandering the neighborhood. I ran into him about 3 weeks later at Dalton Proczak's house. He had real sharp antlers by this time. His felt was gone. He wanted to play, kind of rough though
